I'm sure you've all heard about the recent Supreme Court Ruling, McDonald v. Chicago. (I'm posting links throughout here to many different sites, articles, and opinions on it that I have read through and found interesting in numerous forms. I don't necessarily agree with all of them or take all of them as absolute fact, but they are definitely worth the read-through.) If not, you definitely should read up on the history, ruling (5-4), and predicted affect. (What better place to do this than at the website created for the case itself?) It is a case that seemingly came out of nowhere and is now predicted to have a longterm affect on gun control. It has been hailed as a landmark decision, critiqued as one opening up for years of confusion, and criticized as a case that does more harm than good.
(Don't worry, I'm writing more on this later. Being ill and yet still returning to work have really taken a bit out of this girl!)
