Criminal Law

Lawyers practicing criminal law are quite possibly the most noble in the profession. I know, I know, they get the bad guys off free. They work with the guilty! They use dirty tricks! What about the lawyers working in public works? the DA office? civil rights? These are all the rah-rah, I'm going to do right in the world areas of law. Yet, I truly think that criminal law is the sector in which one can actually uphold the system of law. Think about it. Everybody gets their day in court. Due process. The right to a speedy trial. It is all what makes our system of justice the best in the world. If criminal lawyers did not do their job, the system would fall apart. Think about it some more - how difficult is their job? They have to work with these people, most of whom they know are guilty, and try their hardest to set them free according to the letter of the law.
